Steps for Translating and Legalizing Documents for the German Embassy
For travel, study, or family reunion in Germany, the computerized birth certificate is a primary document whose German translation must be submitted with official legalizations. Here are the steps in detail:
1. Extract a Recent Original Certificate
Before beginning, extract a recent computerized birth certificate from the Civil Registry bearing the official stamp.
2. Legalization from the Egyptian MOFA
Take the original certificate to the nearest Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) office to get a legalization stamp. Remember that the German Embassy requires the MOFA stamp to be no older than 6 months.
3. Certified German Translation
